Description: The Dawr al-a’la (The Highest Pearl), also known as the Hizb al Wiqaya (The Prayer of Protection), is a prayer of remarkable power and beauty. It consists of 33 verses, invoking protection through particular Divine Names and phrases from the Quran. There are many variations in the reading of the Hizb, all of them correct. The recommended version for learning is either the original Arabic/EnglishTransliteration from the Muhyi Din Ibn Arabi Society (black hard cover) or the new volume by Suha Taji Farouki (Anqa Publishing), which contains the Arabic with variations in the footnotes, a very nice English Translation and Transliteration.
The Prayer is recited here by Murshid F. A. Ali ElSenossi slowly and clearly so that the one who does not read Arabic may have the benefit of reciting this wonderful litany.
